The Cause

Last year ‘Love for the Ladies’ launched its first ever breast cancer awareness snowboard and ski rail jam event. On March 27, 2010 we are doin’ it again!!

This super fun, no-stress co-ed team park jam will be hosted at Beaver Creek’s Lumberyard park to the lower east side of chair 6. The day will be dedicated to unifying the community, spreading knowledge about the Breast Cancer, and raising money for the Vail Breast Cancer Awareness Group. Bring your family, sign up as a participant, or just donate for the cause!

As we all know, cancer causes more then just physical pain to those diagnosed. To many families, financial difficulties are experienced daily with expensive treatments, illness due to Chemo and Radiation, and even the stress of affording a babysitter for those long days at the hospital. By participating in Love For The Ladies, we can reach out to many of those in need, unite as one, and give them a monitary gift of relief in their never ending fight for life.

My Mom, Andy, has been fighting Breast Cancer for many years. She is the inspiration I have felt to help others. Her dedicated fight to learn about her illness led her upon a trial drug called Herceptin. This drug, which only a quarter of women could take (due to the presence of their HER-2 gene), is a non toxic form of preventing the cancer to spread: A true miracle. No hair loss, no stomach upset, just right to the point pure treatment. This drug, now certifiably on the market is helping thousands of women daily, giving them the hope they need to wake up each morning and keep fighting.

We must unite as women, as men, and as families to try and extinguish this cancer that has taken so many of our precious lives. Please, let’s help those who need it!
